ODISHA FIRE & DISASTER RESPONSE INSTITUTE (OFDRI), NARAJ, CUTTACK

Odisha Fire & Disaster Response Institute (OFDRI), Naraj, Cuttack was sanctioned by Govt. vide Resolution No.380/CD Dt. 22.04.2015 with a purpose to augment the training standard of sub-ordinate staff like Fireman, Leading Fireman, Driver Havildars of Odisha Fire Service. The training syllabus was designed to train and equip these personnel as a multi disaster response force having ability and skill to combat any emergency that may be natural or manmade.  In addition to sub-ordinate Fire personnel, Home Guards, who have been declared as auxiliary fire force by Govt., are also being imparted training on fire fighting, rescue and relief operations. As on 1st Sept. 2020, 3472 personnel have been trained at OFDRI. It has the capacity of accommodating 500 personnel with parade ground, drill tower, vertical rope climbing and other ancillary training facilities.
