Odisha Right to Public Service Act
Delivery of important services in a time bound manner is the hallmark of good governance. Government of Odisha has time and again initiated steps for improving the service delivery to its citizens. Keeping with the ethos of a welfare State, Government of Odisha has passed a landmark legislation "Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012" that guarantees the delivery of public services in a time bound manner.
The law enables the citizens to demand public services as a matter of right and also includes a provision for penal action against officials failing to provide the services within the stipulated time.
Odisha Fire Service has developed a portal, “agnishamaseva.gov.in” to deliver the services on online mode. In order to maintain transparency and accountability on the part of officials the Government of Odisha has made it mandatory that the work flow processes of different functions of Odisha Fire Service for industries, commercial establishments and businesses shall be dealt with online web-system only in its Notification No 35463/CD, Home (Civil Defence) Department dated 3rd November, 2020.
